How to safely operate a forklift(Part 2)

2025-06-27

Ⅲ  Loading and Unloading Operations

1. Load management. Strictly follow the load curve diagram of the vehicle. When the center of gravity of the goods exceeds the rated center distance, the effective load capacity of the vehicle will decrease accordingly. It is recommended to configure an on-board weighing system to display the load weight and center of gravity position in real time, and automatically prohibit lifting when overloaded. It is not allowed to use orders and work, nor to use goods and push them up. Moving goods must be done with goods and forks.

2. Stacking standards. The stacking of goods should be firm and neat, and the bundling of loose items should be secure to avoid uneven loading, prevent the collapse of goods, and prevent forklifts from tipping over. The stacking height of goods shall not exceed 80% of the height of the gantry, and anti tipping devices (such as wrapping film or shelves) shall be used.

3. Taboos for high lifting operations. When the goods are raised high, it is strictly prohibited to tilt the door frame forward or backward, otherwise the vehicle will be unstable and there is a risk of the goods and pallets slipping or collapsing. When the cargo rises above 2 meters, it is forbidden for the gantry to tilt forward or move sideways, which will reduce stability by 60%.

4. Safety of gantry operation. It is strictly prohibited to reach into the middle of the gantry to straighten the goods during homework, in order to prevent the body from touching the control lever and being caught by the gantry; If you need to straighten the goods, be sure to park, pull the handbrake, and get off the vehicle.

Ⅳ Operation Completed

1. Post homework inspection: After the homework is completed, check for oil leakage, cracks, and damage in all parts; Inject butter into various parts, lift the forks up and down, and apply lubricating oil inside the door frame. If any abnormalities are found, they should be reported to the management personnel in a timely manner.

2. Parking safety measures. When the driver leaves the car, they must remove the key to prevent others from operating without a license; The goods have fallen to the ground again, cultivate the habit of pulling the handbrake at any time.

3. Parking environment management. Park in designated areas (with dedicated forklift parking spaces, yellow warning lines on the ground, and a distance of 22 meters), and prohibit occupying fire exits or main roads for pedestrian and vehicular traffic. When parking in the charging area, it is necessary to maintain a distance of at least 1.5 meters from flammable materials, and the battery plug should face outward for easy inspection.

4. Regular maintenance and upkeep. The daily maintenance of your car is crucial as it directly relates to its continued use and extended lifespan. In order to ensure that forklifts are always in optimal working condition, regular maintenance is required, including daily maintenance and a clearly defined first, second, and third level maintenance plan.
